Welcome to the Postgame Outlet power ratings corner. In a nutshell, our power
ratings tell you how many points better or worse a team is than an average NFL
team. If Green Bay is a +9, we see them as nine points stronger than
a league-average team on a neutral field. If Kansas City is +8.5,
Green Bay would be about half a point better than the Chiefs somewhere neutral.
These are living numbers — they move as we get new info: injuries, trades, or just last year's data mattering less as the new season takes shape. One thing we don't bake in is motivation. A team on a losing streak might come out extra fired up, and we leave that layer of context to you. Use the ratings to read the NFL landscape at a glance, and revisit them as the league changes.
A roster-based, points-denominated power rating for all 32 NFL teams. Every team's rating is expressed in points versus a league-average team (0.0) and is the straight sum of its parts:
A rating of +7.0 means that team would be favored by about a
touchdown over a perfectly average team on a neutral field.
